Whew! Last day in Bangkok, last day in South East Asia.

Quick thoughts before going to find some food…

*I don’t think anyone should come to this part of the world and not see Angkor Wat in Cambodia.

*History lessons from friends you meet along the way are grand.

*Vietnam is not all jungle and I may go back one day.

*The beaches I saw in Thailand do not compare to Roatan.

*The Mekong river is HUGE! It truly is hot and humid!

I begin the crazy that is the route to Colorado at 330 am July 1st, tonight, or tomorrow depending on how you look at. I travel a hour by bus to the airport, check in at 530, wait til 830 to board, fly 4.5 hours to Taiwan, wait 2 hours to board another plane, (this is the rough one) 13 hours to LAX, wait 7 hours to board the last leg of the journey, 2.5 hours to land in Denver just past midnight.

Thirty-seven hours and 13 time zones.  WHEW! Pray for me!

Hmm wonder if my math is correct?

My phone should be working when I land LA, it will be 2pm LA time.

I promise to get started on the photos sooner than later.

Quickly, again

Delat, Vietnam.

I think I finally found the South East Asia groove. Man, it took me ages to feel good here.

I am loving many things about Vietnam including the amazing mountains, the beautiful corals in the sea and the people.

Here in Delat it is almost cold…very strange after being so very hot for so long.

I am here to see waterfalls and coffee plantations then I hop yet another bus back to the beach just north of Siagon. I will travel south through the Mekong Delta then hop a ferry to see an island off the coast of Cambodia that belongs to Vietnam…they have dive boats, I am going for another snorkel..if I like the place I will stay a while to rest up before heading back to Bangkok and the 32 hours of travel back to the states.

I should be back in Boulder July 2nd.

Pics coming!

Very Slow Connection

Man, you would think I am at the ends of the earth or something with the ever so very slow internet connection. I type faster than the buffer can so I am forever waiting..very strange. I don’t type that fast.

Very quickly, Mom and I had a grand old time. She left last week,  I think, time is different here. I continued on to Laos taking the slow (2 day) boat trip down the Mekong to Luang Prang spending a few days hanging out with some people from Israel, huge history lesson there people!  I am currently in a small place called Vieng Vang famous for rafting down the river and caving, might have to rent a bike to morrow to see what the what is about.

By the by – Mom and I saw Angkor Wat, if ever you are in this part of the world, I don’t care the price..GO see this place. I have plenty of pics for those that do not. We also were on two islands, Ko Chang and Ko PiPi Don, neither one could hold a candle to Roatan. We were in Bangkok twice, enjoying both times. Then north to Chang Mai…big busy place but where we stayed was a quiet island of calm. We went  to Chang Rai to see “The Princess Mother’s” garden…Both mom and I were blown away by the beauty and the many waterfalls.

My plan is to go south for a week or so, get a Vietnam visa along the way then go north up the coast to see if I can find an island as pretty and warm as Roatan.

I have over 600 pics I will share once I get back to the states. The computers here are just to slow for me to deal.
